DIN - Published by Beuth

The heading says it all: The publisher "Beuth Verlag" is a subsidiary of DIN, the German Institute for Standardization, founded on 25 April 1924 in Berlin.

In addition to DIN and VDI (Society of German Engineers), many other renowned institutions from industry, science and technology delegate their publishing work to Beuth Verlag.

Operating throughout Europe
In 1993 the standards bodies of Austria (ON) and Switzerland (SNV) became shareholders of Beuth Verlag GmbH, making Beuth one of the largest technical publishers in Europe. Because Beuth also publishes numerous titles in other languages than German (primarily English) it has become well-known beyond the German-speaking area.

Technical information from across the world
Beuth Verlag has traditionally been known for selling standards and other technical documents - formerly on paper only, now also in electronic format online and on CD-ROM. Today, Beuth's programme has been expanded to include numerous book series (such as DIN Handbooks, Beuth Praxis, Beuth Law, Beuth Pocket) and loose-leaf collections (on building and civil engineering and the safety of machinery, for example) many of which are available in English. Over 50,000 titles can be supplied direct from stock, and a further 220,000 national and international publications can be supplied at short notice.

As of April 2005 Beuth Verlag has its own press office.
