General terms and conditions relating to DIN conferences & DIN seminars

1. Scope
The general terms and conditions relating to DIN conferences & DIN seminars apply to all fee-based events organized and staged by Beuth Verlag.

2. Registration
Please register in writing (by letter, fax, E-mail or online).

3. Organization
DIN conferences & DIN seminars are organized and staged by Beuth Verlag. Fees cover all conference or seminar material, a certificate of participation, lunch and/or refreshments and beverages. Prices given are without VAT.

Participants will receive written confirmation that the event is to take place.

4. Payment
The fee is payable in full within 8 days of receipt of the invoice, with details of the invoice number.

5. Cancellation by participants
Participants may cancel in writing up to 21 days before the conference or seminar without incurring a cancellation fee. In the case of later cancellations or non-attendance, the full fee will be charged. The seminar or conference material will be sent. You will be given the option of nominating someone else to take your place without incurring additional costs. Alternatively, you may attend a different seminar within a year, in which case an administrative surcharge of € 50 plus VAT will be due. Any differences between fees will be offset.

6. Cancellation by Beuth Verlag
If there are important reasons for doing so (notably illness on the part of the instructor/speaker, or an insufficient number of registrations), Beuth Verlag is entitled to cancel a seminar or conference at short notice, but not later than six working days before it is to be held, and is not liable for any costs incurred by participants as a result. If possible, participants will be given the option of attending an alternative event (in which case no rebooking charge will be levied). If they decline, their payments will be refunded. Registered participants have no rights to claim for losses against the organizers.

7. Publicity
Publicity in any form during or in connection with the seminar or conference is subject to the prior written permission of Beuth Verlag.

8. Personal data
Your data are collected, stored, processed and passed on to other companies within the DIN Group for publicity purposes, according to § 28 of the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz). A data protection officer has been appointed. You may refuse permission for your personal data to be used for publicity purposes at any time. Names of participants and their companies will be made accessible to seminar or conference participants in the form of an attendance list.

9. General information
In the interests of quality assurance and for documentation purposes, Beuth Verlag reserves the right to make a visual and/or acoustic record of the event, in whole or in part. At the same time, Beuth Verlag is entitled to make programme changes with respect to speakers, content, or the date or location of the event, without this being grounds for claims of any form. The place of jurisdiction is Berlin.
