The DIN SPEC described here applies for the definition of requirements and test of the laser resistance of textile protection material for protection gloves against laser radiation. The requirements and tests defined apply as an addition to the existing area of protection gloves (for example DIN EN 407 and DIN EN 420) and can additionally be carried out. The test of protection gloves materials can be carried out by applying the requirements definitions (transmission, absorption, remission/reflexion as well calorimetric and optical measurements) optionally for a selected wavelength, a selected spectrum in the wavelength area, or for the entire defined test range in the wavelength spectrum. The investigation of pretection glove materials with respect to non-coherent UV radiation are for the time being.
