Standard series DIN 1988
DIN 1988 – Codes of practice for drinking water installations
- Part 200:2012-05 Type A (closed system) – Planning, components, apparatus, materials; DVGW Code of practice
- Part 300:2012-05 Pipe sizing; DVGW Code of practice
- Part 500:2011-02 Pressure boosting stations with RPM-regulated pumps; DVGW Code of practice
These three translations, together with the already issued English translation of DIN 1988-100:2011-08 “Protection of drinking water, drinking water quality control; DVGW Code of practice“ make up the major part of the important DIN 1988 series on drinking water installations. This was developed/revised in response to the publication of the European Standards DIN EN 1717 and DIN EN 806, the DIN 1988 series going into greater depth than the European Standards.
Part 200 supplements DIN EN 806-2, taking into account German national legislation, particularly that relating to energy saving measures for hot water pipes.
Part 300 focuses on pipe sizing, retaining tried and tested calculation methods but updating certain parameters, where relevant.
The design and installation requirements for water pressure boosting systems in Part 500 make it possible to meet more stringent requirements for comfort, hygiene and energy efficiency.
