Overview:

This standard specifies the handling of units for the creation of properties. Compliance with these rules ensures the exchange of data between various CAx systems within companies and the exchange of data between companies, nationally and internationally. The units prepared according to these rules are applicable in international e-commerce because they are of a general nature and industry-neutral/are independent of the industry. In the DIN 4002 document series, a method for the development and standardization of structural elements compatible with the international document series ISO/IEC Guide-77, ISO 13584, IEC 61360, ISO 29002 is specified, whereby these structural elements form the normative content of the DIN Properties Dictionary (www.DINsml.net). This document has been prepared by NA 128-00-01 AA "Merkmallexikon Grundlagen und Regeln" ("Properties Dictionary principles and rules").
