Overview

This standard applies to retaining rings with lugs for use in bores. These retaining rings have an eccentric form and have a number of lugs of equal depth uniformly distributed around the circumference. They are suitable for retaining machine components which have non-square (radiused or chamfered) edges as well as for concealed installation. With respect to DIN 984:1981-09 specifications regarding load bearing capacity and assembly as well as use of other materials have been revised parallel to editorial modifications, amongst others. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 067-00-09 AA "Verbindungselemente ohne Gewinde" ("Fasteners without thread") at the Standards Committee Fasteners (FMV) at DIN.
