Working Committee NA 119-01-02-07 UA "Begriffe" ("Terminology") at DIN is responsible for this standard. The standard ISO 11074:2006 has been revised by ISO/TC 190/SC 1 to combine all terms and definitions prepared within ISO/TC 190 "Soil quality" into one standard, thus providing a comprehensive dictionary for the entire field of soil quality. The standard has been extended to include all terms whose definition is not specific to only one standard, but are of a more general nature. Existing and long-established terms and their definitions have remained largely unchanged. This dictionary is intended for the unambiguous use of language and data exchange of all soil-specific data and related work (for example, for laboratories, samplers). ISO/FDIS 11074 was adopted by CEN/TC 345 "Characterization of soils" as a European standard under the Vienna Agreement and is currently submitted to Final Vote.
