Brazilian standards now directly available online
8,500 standards issued by the Brazilian standards organization ABNT (Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas) can now be searched and ordered from Beuth's webshop. More than 7,600 of these can be downloaded directly as (DRM-protected) PDF documents.
Almost all standards are available in Portuguese, and some are available in English and/or Spanish translation.

The institute was established in 1940 and is also a founder member of ISO. It was involved in the formation of COPANT, the Panamerican Standards Commission (Comisión Panamericana de Normas Técnicas) and also co-founded AMN (Asociación Mercosur de Normalización), the association of standards organizations responsible for the Common South American market MERCOSUL.
