Overview

The audit procedure serves to audit development processes of interactive products on the basis of DIN EN ISO 9241-210. Users of the audit procedure are developing organisations; consulting organisations for usability engineering; auditors of accredited usability testing bodies; accreditation assessors for usability testing bodies. With the audit procedure, developing organisations are given guidance to internally assess the maturity of their development process with regard to usability and, if necessary, to prepare measures to improve the process from project to project. Consulting organizations for usability engineering are often commissioned by developing organizations to optimize projects and processes of the developing organization with regard to usability engineering. With the audit procedure the consulting organizations are instructed to determine and improve the maturity level of a development process in a developing organization. Usability test centres use the audit procedure to check usability engineering processes for compliance with DIN EN ISO 9241-210. Finally, the audit procedure is the basis for accreditation assessors who determine the technical qualification of a testing laboratory on behalf of accreditation bodies.
