Short description
The standard covers the analysis and presentation of vibrations. The standard defines uniform rules for the presentation of vibration results in order to ensure their comparability. Vibration analyses are mainly concerned with methods for analysing stationary and largely quasi-stationary events. Vibration analyses are required when assessing the state of an engine and the influences on humans and the environment, they are necessary for trouble-shooting and the elimination or reduction of vibrations, for condition monitoring of machines and installations as well as for error detection. This standard is addressed to anyone carrying out vibration analyses and wishing to document the results durably and comprehensibly, be this in one's own archive for later comparisons, for trend analyses, or as a basis for prognoses, whether in the form of technical reports or publications.
