Short description

This standard specifies requirements on the design of interlaboratory testing schemes and the performance and evaluation of interlaboratory tests for olfactometry under laboratory conditions. This standard deals with: interlaboratory tests with sample shipping; interlaboratory tests with sampling. In the context of an interlaboratory test with sample shipping, samples are shipped and subsequently analysed by the participant. For an interlaboratory test with sampling, constant emission conditions are established at a ducted source (interlaboratory testing facility) and samples are taken by the participant with an own sampling system and subsequently analysed. This standard may be applied in conjunction with VDI 4221 Part 1 only. This standard applies to providers of interlaboratory tests, to accreditation bodies, to test laboratories and competent authorities in the field of immission control.
