In the quality assurance of gears with involute profile, collecting checks and the determination of individual deviations are distinguished. Detecting individual variations includes for example flank-line profile variations, and pitch and radial run-outs. The standard describes procedures for metrological determination and analysis of tooth-flank deviations and their computer-aided evaluation.
