Currency of documents
Click on the link "Checking the currency of standards" to check the currency of a specific edition of a document (i.e. to see if it has been withdrawn or not) using one or more of the following fields:
- Document number: If you wish to check which edition of a standard is the currently valid one, enter the full document number (the abbreviations and the number, e.g. DIN EN ISO 9001) or just the number (e.g. 9001)
- Publication date: If you wish to check the validity of a specific edition, also enter the publication date as YYYY-MM. Please note: This differs from the date format used for other functions on the web site!
Example: "DIN 28054-2"
Result: The message "The document you wished to retrieve has been withdrawn.
The document or documents which now supersede it are shown below." is displayed.
The bibliographic information for the replacement document, DIN EN 14879-2, is shown and the document can be ordered from here. (In this case, the replacement document has a different number.)
If the standard has been withdrawn without replacement you will receive a message to this effect.
If you do not search for a specific edition, the most current edition of the document will be displayed.
