Short description
The guideline defines the design of ball plates as artefact for the monitoring of coordniate measuring machines. It describes the process of measurement and the evaluation using ball plates as artefact. Special regard was held on standardised artefacts, a standardised logging and an economic execution of the monitoring. The descriptive procedure is suitable as basis for an internal monitoring and also for a monitoring of coordinate measuring machines demanded of public or private clients. The described procedures fulfill in particular the requirements in accordance with DIN ISO 9004. It differs from the examinations in accordance with part 2.1 and part 3 of the guideline VDI/VDE 2617 in the range of the measurements, the used artefacts and the evaluation of the results.
