This European Technical Specification specifies a laboratory method of test for the assessment of the effectiveness of a masonry fungicide applied to masonry for the prevention of the growth of dry rot into wood. This laboratory method enables the determination of the concentration of a preservative within mortar which could prevent the dry rot fungus from growing through a given mortar layer treated with this preservative. With respect to DIN V ENV 12404:1997-04 the state has been changed from a preliminary standard to a CEN/TS without content-related modifications. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 042-03-06 AA "Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 38 und ISO/TC 165/SC 1 Dauerhaftigkeit von Holz und Holzprodukten" ("Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 38 and ISO/TC 165/SC 1 Durability of wood and wood-based products") at DIN.
