Synthetic polymer teeth are required to bond permanently with denture base polymers and resist thermal, chemical and mechanical influences in the oral cavity. This test method investigates the bond strength of polymer teeth to the denture-base material along the bonding surface. A measurement of the bond strength of polymer teeth to the denture-base material is only relevant when the fracture runs at least partially adhesively, meaning along the bonding surface, and as a result the bond strength is integrated in the measurement result. This standard has been prepared by Working Group NA 014-00-02-01 "Verbundfestigkeit von Kunststoffzähnen mit Prothesenkunststoffen" ("Bonding of synthetic polymer teeth to denture-base polymers") of Working Committee NA 014-00-02 AA "Künstliche Zähne" ("Artificial teeth") of NADENT at DIN, the German Institute for Standardization e. V. It is the result of the INS project 1045 carried out in 2010.
