This standard has been prepared by Subcommittee NA 087-00-15-03 UA "Fahrgastraum" ("Passenger area") of Working Committee NA 087-00-15 AA "Zustand der Eisenbahnfahrzeuge" ("State of railway vehicles") of the Railway Standardization Committee (FSF), in coordination with other working committees of the FSF and the German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies (DKE) and contains safety specifications. The standards of the complete works "State of railway vehicles" represent a uniform and system-compatible normative document which specifies the limit state for the safe operation and processes to maintain the target state of standard gauge railway vehicles. All documents of the complete works are listed in DIN 27200, Supplement 1. Wear, failures and other damage influence the operational safety of railway vehicles. Depending on the wear characteristics, application parameters and the current state of the railway vehicles and the cost effectiveness, a maintenance system shall be specified by which it is ensured that the necessary technical target state is maintained. The general field of application of this standard is specified in DIN 27200:2011-11, clause 1 and 3.1. This standard applies to entrance doors of the type of construction folding hinged doors for passenger areas of a) passenger vehicles; b) railcars; c) multiple unit trains. This standard shall be used by analogy for railway vehicles with deviating types of construction. DIN 27203-2 has been published in 2004 and was the transposition of the technical rules for the state of railway vehicles TRF.2232. The following modifications have been made with respect to DIN 27203-2:2004-02: a) foreword has been adopted b) scope has been re-specified c) normative references have been updated and DIN 5591 and DIN EN 14752 have been incorporated d) clause 4.1.2: function has been revised e) requirements regarding the technical target state in the Tables 1 to 5 have been revised f) Figure 4: symbolic representation of the door blocking device has been revised g) clause 4.5.1: function has been revised h) Figure 11, position 3: throttling screw has been corrected i) editorial revision.
