Overview

This standard has been prepared by Subcommittee NA 087-00-15-03 UA "Fahrgastraum" ("Passenger area") of Working Committee NA 087-00-15 AA "Zustand der Eisenbahnfahrzeuge" ("State of railway vehicles") of the Railway Standardization Committee (FSF), in coordination with other working committees of the FSF and the German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies (DKE) and contains safety specifications. The standards of the complete works "State of railway vehicles" represent a uniform and system-compatible normative document which specifies the limit state for the safe operation and processes to maintain the target state of standard gauge railway vehicles. All documents of the complete works are listed in DIN 27200, Supplement 1. DIN 27203 "State of railway vehicles - Passenger area" consists of: - Part 1: Entrance doors - Type of construction: Folding doors - Part 2: Entrance doors - Type of construction: Folding hinged doors - Part 3: Entrance doors - Type of construction: Sliding plug doors - Part 4: Entrance doors - Type of construction: Sliding doors - Part 5: Entrance doors - Type of construction: Swinging doors - Part 6: End doors/doors between coaches - Type of construction: Folding doors, sliding doors, roller loading doors, hinged doors - Part 7: Loading doors - Type of construction: Sliding plug doors, sliding doors, roller loading doors, folding doors - Part 8: Movable steps - Part 9: Emergency exit windows - Part 10: Vehicle related entrance devices - Part 11: Water supply installations - Part 12: Kitchen equipment - Part 13: Beverage dispensing systems - Part 14: Liquefied gas installations - Part 15: (withdrawn) DIN 27203-15 "State of railway vehicles - Passenger area - Hoists" has been withdrawn in 2010 as the hoists described in this standard are no longer used. The general field of application of this standard is specified in DIN 27200:2011-11, clause 1 and 3.1. This standard applies to entrance doors of the type of construction folding hinged doors for passenger areas of a) passenger vehicles; b) railcars; c) multiple unit trains. This standard shall be used by analogy for railway vehicles with deviating types of construction. DIN 27203-2 has been published in 2004 and was the transposition of the technical rules for the state of railway vehicles TRF.2232.
