Overview

The permissible deviations specified in this standard apply to single and multiple-start hobs for the manufacture of worm wheels. Hobs with modules up to 40 mm are covered. National interests in the preparation of the standard were represented by Committee NA 060-34-14 "Schneckenverzahnungen" ("Worm gears") of the Technical Section Gear at DIN Standards Committee Mechanical Engineering (NAM). Representatives of the manufacturers and users of worm gears as well as the employers' liability insurance associations were involved in the preparation.
