This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 062-06-51 AA "Prüfverfahren für Schmieröle, sonstige Öle und Paraffine" ("Testing of lubricating oils, other oils and Paraffin") at the Petroleum, Fuels, Lubricants and Related Products Standardization Committee (FAM) of the Materials Testing Standards Committee (NMP) at DIN. This document specifies terms and definitions for lubricants used for lubricating or cooling and lubricating during machining and forming of materials, especially of metals.
This document replaces DIN 51385:1991-06 .
