Overview

The DIN 58141 standard series specifies measurement methods for fibre optic elements. This standard is applicable for measurement of fibre optic components and products for image and data transmission (distances up to 100 m) as well as for transmission of light and optical radiation in the near infrared and ultraviolet spectral range. It is not applicable for fibre optic components and products intended for telecommunication and data transmission over distances greater than 100 m. The purpose of this standard is to specify a standardised procedure for measurement of the acceptance angle of light guides. The standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 027-01-16 AA "Faseroptik" ("Fibre optics") at NAFuO.
