DIN EN 14359:2017-09

This standard specifies relevant requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23 EC for pressure equipment placed on the market for the first time in the European Economic Area (EEA) in order to facilitate the demonstration of conformity with these requirements. It describes the requirements for materials, design, manufacture, testing, safety systems and documentation (including instructions for first operation) for commonly-used types of gas-loaded accumulators and pressure vessels for fluid power applications. This standard incorporates the German version of prEN 14359:2014 prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 54 "Unfired pressure vessels" within the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). The standard differs from DIN EN 14359:2011-04 as follows: a) Clause 1: The scope has been updated. b) Clause 2: The normative references have been updated. c) Clause 3: The clause has been updated. d) Subclause 5.4: The permissible values have been updated. e) Subclause 5.5: The permissible limits have been updated. f) Subclause 5.6: The clause has been updated and supplemented by the calculation. g) Annex A: Annexes A and B of the previous version have been omitted. Old Annex C corresponds to Annex A. h) Annex B: This is the revised old Annex D. i) Annex C: has been redone. j) Annex D: This is the updated old Annex E. k) Annex E: has been newly added. l) Annex F: has been newly added. m) Annex ZA: This annex has been updated. The national interests in its preparation are represented by Committee NA 060-36-19 AA "Hydrospeicher" ("Hydraulic accumulators") in Sector "Fluid power systems" of Standards Committee Mechanical Engineering (NAM) at DIN. Representatives of the manufacturers and users of hydraulic accumulators and their additional chambers for fluid power applications as well as of the employers' liability insurance associations were involved in the preparation of the standard.
