The document specifies requirements for rough blocks of natural stone from which products for use in building or commemorative stones and other similar applications are made. It does not cover artificially agglomerated stony material nor installation. This European test standard supersedes EN 1467:2004. It is intended for use by stone manufacturers and independent test laboratories. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 062-03-11 GA "Gemeinschaftsarbeitsausschuss NMP/NABau: Naturwerkstein; Anforderungen, Prüfverfahren und Terminologie" ("Joint Working Committee NMP/NABau: Natural stone; requirements, test methods and terminology") at DIN.
