DIN EN 302-8:2017-05

This European Standard specifies a method of determining the ability of adhesive bonds to resist static load. It is applicable to adhesives used in load bearing timber structures. Bonded test pieces are subjected to a constant compression shear load under a series of three different climates. Number of failures and the amount of deformation is measured after the end of the last climate cycle. Compared to DIN EN 15416-2:2008-03, the title has been changed and DIN EN 301 and DIN EN 16254 have been included in the scope of application. Temperatures of 50 °C and 90 °C have been added with reference to EN 15425 for PUR adhesives. The structure has been adapted to the DIN EN 302 series of standards and the dimensions of some parts of the tester have been modified. The responsible committee for this standard is NA 042-04-05 AA "Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 193/SC 1 Holzklebung" ("Mirror committee for CEN/TC 193/SC 1 Wood adhesives") at DIN.
