Overview

This standard is part of the series of EN metallic material standards for aerospace applications. The general organization of this series is described in EN 4258. This standard specifies the requirements relating to: titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V annealed bar and wire for forged fasteners having a diameter of up to and including 50 mm for aerospace applications. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. ASD became the associated body (ASB) of CEN by the agreement dated 1986-10-03. Document EN 3813:2011 has been prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Metallic Materials, with the participation of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-01-02 AA "Titan" ("Titanium") of the Aerospace Standards Committee at DIN. According to Resolution 57/9 of Technical Committee of the advisory board of the Aerospace Standards Committee (NL) at DIN, the German Institute for Standardization, the European space industry standardization results shall be adopted into the German body of standards in both languages, German and English. Therefore, the English version is added to the German version of this EN standard.
