Overview

This standard contains the German version of the European Standard EN 55016-1-4:2010 and its Amendment A1:2012 and is identical to the International Standard CISPR 16-1-4 (2010 edition) and its Amendment 1:2012. The standard specifies requirements for antennas and test sites intended for measurement of high-frequency radiated disturbances (interference field strengths) in the frequency range 9 kHz to 18 GHz. The EMC product committees and users of measurements of electromagnetic disturbances are recommended to observe the corresponding specifications of standard series IEC/CISPR 16 or EN 55016 for measuring equipment, methods as well as measurement uncertainty for their specifications for measurement of high-frequency disturbances (radio disturbances). Amendment A1 serves for the introduction of the reference test site method as an alternative method for the calibration of the test site, amongst others. The original method is based on the determination of the standardized site attenuation measurement by using tuned dipoles or broadband antennas. For the reference site method, the test site to be validated is now measured by means of broadband antennas and the deviation of the site attenuation with regard to the test site serving as a reference test site is determined. The test site to be validated is regarded suitable if the deviation of the site attenuation meets the criterion plus/minus 4 dB. The measurement set-up and the measurement method are described in the amendment. Furthermore, the determination of the possible causes is dealt with when the criterion is not met. Furthermore, the amendment supplements information on the measurement uncertainty during calibration of test sites. For this purpose, a new Annex G has been created. Finally, the content of the standard has been restructured. For this purpose the previous Annex E has also been deleted and its specifications have been adopted into the normative main part. A comparison of the clauses of the edition of the standard with or without consideration of Amendment A1 is presented in an introductory clause to provide the user with help in reading the standard. The responsible committee is Subcommittee UK 767.4 "Geräte und Verfahren zur Messung von elektromagnetischen Aussendungen" ("Apparatus and methods for measurement of electromagnetic emissions") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
