The standard sheets of this loose-leaf publication specify requirements for gauges, which are important for the interchangeability of a lamp with a certain cap in the corresponding lamp holder. Through Amendment A40, new requirements for the gauges for G8.5 and PGJ(X)50 systems have been added. The Subcommittee responsible for this standard is UK 521.2 "Lampensockel und -fassungen" ("Lamp caps and holders") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
