This standard deals with the safety of stationary electric cooking ranges, hobs, ovens and similar appliances for household use, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances connected between one phase and neutral, and 480 V for other appliances. The modifications are based on interpretations which have resulted from inquiries to CLC/TC 61. The interpretations have been documented in document CLC/TR 50417 and are now incorporated in the standard. The modifications concern clauses 19 "Abnormal operation", 20 "Stability and mechanical hazards", 21 "Mechanical strength" and 29 "Clearances, creepage distances and solid insulation". The responsible committee is Subcommittee UK 511.2 "Herde und Mikrowellengeräte" ("Cooking ranges and microwave ovens") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
