Overview

This standard contains the text of the International Publication IEC 60335-2-69:2012 adopted by CENELEC as a European Standard with agreed common amendments. The standard has been fundamentally revised and updated with regard to the state of the art. Specifically, changes have been made in Clauses 15, 22 and 25. The Annexes EE 'Noise measurements' and FF 'Vibration measurements' have been added. This European Standard deals with the safety of electrical motor-operated vacuum cleaners, including back-pack vacuum cleaners, and dust extractors, for wet suction, dry suction, or wet and dry suction, intended for commercial indoor or outdoor use with or without attachments. It also deals with the safety of centrally-sited vacuum cleaners and to machines handling hazardous dust such as, for example, asbestos. The dust and water vacuum cleaners mentioned above are used outside normal household applications such as hotels, schools, hospitals, factories, shops, supermarkets and offices. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 511.14 "Gewerbliche Bodenreinigungsmaschinen" ("Commercial floor cleaning machines") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
