Overview

This standard specifies general requirements for audiometers and particular requirements for pure-tone audiometers designed for use in determining hearing threshold levels, relative to standard relative threshold levels established by means of psychoacoustic test methods. New specifications in the extended high frequency range (8 kHz to 16 kHz) have been added, the contact pressure of headphones has been specified in detail and the referenced standards have been adapted to the more current editions. The responsible committee is GUK 821.6 "Hörgeräte und audiometrische Messtechnik" ("Hearing aids and audiometric measurements") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.

This document replaces DIN EN 60645-1:2002-09 , DIN EN 60645-4:1995-06 .
