By evaluating the signals of the global Galileo satellite navigation system, Galileo receiver equipment displays offshore the position of a vessel at harbour entrances and in coastal waters with certain accuracy. The responsible Committee is K 738 "Elektronische Navigationsinstrumente" ("Electronic navigation equipment") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
