Part 24 of IEC 61851 is applicable to direct current (DC) charging stations for electric road vehicles for conductive (line) connection. Together with Part 23 of IEC 61851, this part describes the operations and communication of DC charging for supply voltages up to 1 500 V (direct current). DC charging stations are also referred to as external or "off board" charging stations, since here the power electronics for generating the required voltage are located outside the vehicle. The vehicle is supplied by the DC charging station with a DC current requested by the vehicle. This charging mode is referred to as charging mode 4 in Part 1 of IEC 61851. This Corrigendum essentially corrects several errors and misleading information in Annex A in the description of digital communication between a System A DC charging station for electric vehicles and the electric vehicle to control the charging process. Electric road vehicles (EV) are all road vehicles, including plug-in hybrid electric vehicles that draw all or part of their energy from vehicle batteries. DKE/K 353 "Elektrostraßenfahrzeuge" ("Electric road vehicles") of the DKE German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies in DIN and VDE is responsible.
