Overview

Part 1 specifies the safety requirements that are generally applicable to all equipment within the scope of this standard. For certain types of equipment, these requirements will be supplemented or modified by the special requirements of one or more subsequent parts (for example, IEC 62109-2, IEC 62109-3, etcetera) of the standard which must be read in conjunction with the Part 1 requirements. Corrections to clause 7.3.7.4.1 "Specification" have been made with respect to clearances. The responsible Committee is K 373 "Photovoltaische Solarenergie-Systeme" ("Solar photovoltaic energy systems") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
