Overview

This part of IEC 62148 covers the physical interface specifications for the SFF MT-RJ/LC/MU duplex 10-pin fibre optic transceiver module family. The intent of this document is to adequately describe the physical requirements of an optical transceiver that will enable mechanical interchangeability of transceivers complying with this standard. Thereby, interchangeability refers to both the printed circuit wiring board and any panel-mounting requirement. The standard is directed at transceiver manufacturers and their customers, the manufacturers of active devices for optical network technology. The responsible Committee is Subcommittee UK 412.2 "Komponenten für Kommunikationskabelanlagen" ("Components for communication cabling systems") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
