Performance standards specify a standardized electro-optical performance according to a set of prescribed conditions and include a series or group of tests and measurements with clearly specified conditions, test severities, and criteria for passing or failing the test. The tests are conducted as design acceptance tests to demonstrate whether a product is capable of meeting the requirements of a particular application, market area, or user group. This part of IEC 62343 provides a performance standard of general conditions for dynamic modules. All dynamic modules should satisfy required performance defined in individual performance standards on the general conditions defined in this document. Additional conditions may be included in individual performance standards. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 412.2 "Komponenten für Kommunikationskabelanlagen" ("Components for communication cabling systems") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
