This product standard for rubber- and plastics-covered conveyor belting of textile construction for general surface use above ground on flat or troughed idlers specifies requirements for conveyor belts. The standard is not suitable or valid for light conveyor belts as described in ISO 21183-1. Items that are not requirements of this standard, but need to be agreed between the manufacturer and the purchaser, are included in Annex A. A list of the details intended to be supplied by the purchaser of belting with an enquiry is given in Annex B. This document has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 41 "Pulleys and belts (including veebelts)", SC 3 "Conveyor belts" of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been adopted by Technical Committee CEN/TC 188 "Conveyor belts". The responsible national committee is NA 045-02-05 AA "Fördergurte" ("Conveyor belts") of the Rubber Technology Standards Committee (FAKAU).
This document replaces DIN EN ISO 14890:2005-11 .
