The document contains the categorical structure for classification and coding systems for surgical procedures in health informatics. This standard supersedes DIN EN 1828 which has been published in 2002. With regard to the technical and content structure, this International Standard is essentially identical with the European Standard. This standard has been prepared by ISO/TC 215 "Health informatics" and subjected to Parallel Vote at CEN/TC 251 "Medical informatics". Technical Section 7 "Health informatics" and in particular the staff of Working Committee NA 063-07-03 AA "Terminologie" ("Terminology") at the Medical Standards Committee (NAMed) at DIN have contributed to the preparation. This standard contains the English original text of the September 2012 edition of the International Standard EN ISO 1828, taking into consideration presidential decision no. 13/1983.
This document replaces DIN EN 1828:2002-09 .
