ISO 80000-3:2006 is a basic standard and gives names, symbols and definitions for quantities and units of space and time. Where appropriate, conversion factors are also given. The text of ISO 80000-3:2008 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 12 "Quantities and units" (secretariat: SIS, Sweden) of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been adopted as EN ISO 80000-11:2013 by the CEN Technical Board (BT). The responsible German committee is Working Committee NA 152-01-09-02 AK "Kenngrößen" ("Characteristic numbers") of the Fundamental Technical Standards Committee (NATG) at DIN.
