Overview

This adopted German version of the International Standard specifies requirements for resistance spot and seam welding for aerospace applications. It replaces DIN 29878 and DIN 65233. Currently valid welding procedures established in accordance with DIN 29878 and valid welding machine qualifications in accordance with DIN 65233 maintain their validity even after publication of the present standard DIN ISO 16338. For all new welding machine qualifications and new welding procedures, only DIN ISO 16338 shall be used. The same applies to new requalification tests to be carried out. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 092-00-17 AA "Schweißen im Luft- und Raumfahrzeugbau (DVS AG A 9)" ("Welding in aerospace (DVS AG A 9)") at DIN.
