Overview

This standard introduces the selection and erection of electrical equipment. It contains common rules for compliance with safety measures, requirements regarding satisfactory operation of the installation during intended use and requirements regarding the corresponding foreseeable external influences. With respect to DIN VDE 0100-510 (VDE 0100-510):2011-03, the following essential amendments have been made: a) revision of compatibility requirements for the use of electrical equipment. The responsible committee is DKE/K 221 "Elektrische Anlagen und Schutz gegen elektrischen Schlag" ("Electrical installations and protection against electric shock") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
