The standard is a detail standard for equipment housings. Based on the requirements of the generic standard VG 95447-2, the standard specifies the special requirements standard portable multi-purpose equipment housings with two lids in 19-inch slide-in technique used in the Bundeswehr, and their testing. The standard replaces the 1997 editions of VG 95446-8 to VG 95446-10, in which these housings were described in detail. NA 140-00-17-12 UA of the DIN Standards Committee Electrical Engineering (NE) is responsible for the standards of the VG 95447 series.
