This standard is a detail standard for heavy load relays. This standard applies in conjunction with VG 96928-2 for 1 000 A heavy load relays for DC networks up to 24 V according to VG 96916-5 and DC 28 V according to MIL-STD-1275E. Relays according to this standard can be used at ambient temperatures from -55 °C to 85 °C. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 140-00-16 AA "Relais" ("Electromagnetic relays") at the DIN Standards Committee Electrical Engineering (NE). Relays according to this standard are subject to type testing according to VG 95211.
