This DIN Technical Report is a guide for the assessment of conformity of products in accordance with EN 1519-1. It can be used for the assessment of conformity in the manufacturer's quality plan as part of the quality assurance system. It is not required that a third party is involved when this Technical Report is applied. However, it can be used to support elaboration of national third party certification procedures for products conforming to EN 1519-1. For certification purposes, it is the responsibility of the manufacturer to decide for or against the participation of an unbiased third party. DIN SPEC 1196 (DIN Technical Report 1519-2) provides guidance for the assessment of conformity and applies together with EN 1519-1 to piping systems made of polyethylene (PE) which are intended to be used for: - inside buildings; - for both inside buildings and buried in ground within the building structure. The DIN Technical Report has been prepared by CEN/TC 155 "Plastics piping systems and ducting systems" (secretariat: the Netherlands). The German committee responsible for the preparation of this standard is Joint Working Committee NA 119-05-28 "Kunststoffrohre in der Abwassertechnik" ("Plastics pipes in wastewater engineering") of NAW.
