The present document describes the test methods for measuring a quantity representative of the intrinsic characteristics of sound reflection from railway noise barriers: the reflection index. All noise reducing devices different from noise barriers and related devices acting on airborne sound propagation, for example, devices for attenuation of ground borne vibration and on board devices are out of the scope of this document. The committee responsible for this document is standardization committee NA 087-00-01-11 UA "Lärmschutzwände an Schienenwegen" ("Noise barriers at track").
