Short description
This guideline applies to techniques for energy saving in heating, ventilating and air-conditioning, sanitary and electrical systems in public swimming baths. It applies to both new facilities and to the modernisation of existing ones. The guideline is dedicated to pointing out the particular potential in swimming pools for optimisation of the use of energy. However, the guideline cannot aim to rank the various techniques; such ranking must be made in the context of the individual project against the background of the respective boundary conditions. The actual energy input associated with the technique selected is influenced significantly by the local installation conditions and the method of operation. If the boundary conditions on which the theoretical calculation was based do not match those of actual operation, considerable deviations are bound to occur. This guideline can be used by building-services planners and owners/operators of swimming baths as a basis for planning and decision-making.
