Short description
The standard specifies requirements regarding waste collection in buildings and on premises. It serves health and safety protection, increases comfort for users and disposal companies, and helps to reduce operating costs by decoupling technical requirements and municipal specifications. It applies to residential buildings as well as office and administrative buildings. It can also be applied analogously to other building uses, e.g. restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, and hospitals. Hazardous waste is not treated in this standard. The standard is intended to address architects, local authorities, waste management companies, building owners, building operators and product manufacturers.
