Short description
The present guideline seeks to satisfy the increasing need for information about microgears and is aimed at the users of microgears. It should therefore be understood as an umbrella guideline which, drawing on the findings of research into basic principles and applied research, and also making use of examples of commercially available microgears, brings together for the first time generalizable aspects of development, design, and fabrication as well as the actual use of microgears. The guideline should render access to microdrive technology easier and indicate current limits, particularly in manufacturability. It is intended to form a basic pool of information and to stimulate discussion, and also, in the longer term, expansion.
