Short description
Aerial images have proven valuable regarding the status documentation of forests and vegetation stands and the monitoring of status changes. CIR aerial photography, as it is described in the Standard, represents a method with which in combination with terrestrial examinations extent and spatial distribution of vegetation injuries in small and larger areas by various causes, e.g. by phytotoxic ambient pollutants, may be recorded. It is an analogous picture recording technique though. However, the Standard gives important background information on the creation of analogous aerial images, which are still valuable for the interpretation of aerial images in the existing large archives.
