Short description
In the standard, convention values for emission factors for selected microorganisms (staphylococci and enterococci) from forced-air stables for the keeping or breeding of broilers, chicks and laying hens are set. In the Annex to the standard, an exploratory value for the keeping of turkeys is also proposed. The emission factors are defined as averages over animal places and year. Essential data is based on current studies that are done on the basis of measurements, standardised test procedures for systems of state-of-the-art animal husbandry and good practise. Emission factors are necessary in order to assess ambient concentrations of bioaerosols using propagation bills, for example, with the approval of livestock systems, in complaint cases or in land use planning.
