Short description
The standard defines a procedure for the calibration of oscilloscopes. This accounts for both analogue oscilloscopes and digital storage oscilloscope as well as sampling oscilloscopes and transient recorders, including connected probes. Described are the preparation of calibrations, parameters and their definitions as well as the evaluation and documentation of the calibration results. Also, detailed examples for the determination of the uncertainty of measurement of the calibration are given in the Annex. Uniform operating instructions for the calibration, evaluation, and documentation are given to the users and manufacturers of oscilloscopes. As a result, the comparability of the determined calibration results is secured.
