DIN SPEC 91421:2019-04

This topic has been submitted as a request for the development of a DIN SPEC according to the PAS procedure. The application is currently being examined. DIN SPECs in accordance with the PAS procedure are developed within workshops set up on a temporary basis. This document will be developed and approved by the authors who will approve the business plan. This DIN SPEC is intended to set requirements for the quality and safety of recycled fertilizers from starting substrates of human origin. These requirements are defined by a multi-criteria approach based on a risk analysis. Some of the products that can be made from dry toilet contents include: a. stored urine (ie NH3-sanitized), dried urine (in powder form), struvite, aurin (nitrified urine), ammonium sulfate-deflated urine, compost from the thermophilic composting of faeces and bedding mixed with green waste and possibly also urine, or pasteurized and pelleted feces.
